Symphony Residences of Lincoln Park is looking for an Activities Director to join our team!  Symphony specializes in long-term care and assisted living services.  We deliver quality outcomes for the residents in our care and are a family-oriented operation that is the EMPLOYER OF CHOICE.  Our Activity Manager is responsible to plan, organize, and implement life enrichment programs designed to meet the social, physical, spiritual, intellectual, emotional and educational needs of our residents.

The Activities Director will:
  • Develop the monthly Activity calendar that meets residents’ needs and company expectations
  • Conduct personal interviews with residents to gain insight into preferences and abilities for use in the development of activities
  • Coordinate the transportation of residents to and from outside events to include driving company vehicle when required
  • Responsible for booking entertainers and party planning for residents and staff
  • Monitor budget, equipment, and supplies
  • Trains all activity staff on life enrichment programs
  • Reviews programs to ensure that it meets all state, federal, company, and other regulations and guidelines
  • Assists Community Relations Director with the planning and delivery of community events or activities
  • Maintains an outreach program with community and volunteer organizations for participating in life enrichment programming
  • Provides direct supervision to all activity staff
  • Design physical layout and decorations for activities, displays, and other life enrichment products that meet company standards
  • Responsible for social media updates
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director  
Activities Director must have the following:
  • Excellent customer service

  • High standard of ethics
  • Reliability
  • Experience in IL, AL, or SNF preferred
  • Activity Professional or Recreational Therapist preferred
  • Prefer one year experience in an activities related position
  • High school diploma required
  • Individual is required to perform standing, walking, or lifting as needed for activities
  • Require ability to write reports, write correspondence, design calendars and speak effectively before groups in English
  • Require attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
