The Life Enrichment coordinator/manager will:
 Life Enrichment Coordinator/manager will provide a diversified activity program for our dementia residents.   Maintain records, attends interdisciplinary meetings and transports residents to and from activities. Performs varied clerical and departmental maintenance functions.
  • Develop an ongoing program for group and individual activities based on the residents’ needs, interest, and abilities as identified in resident’s assessment / care plans
  • Participate in care plan meetings
  • Complete required record keeping upon resident per facility policy
  • Create the activity calendar
  • Provide training and in-services
  • Implement and maintain established policies and procedures
  • Guide, lead and provide motivation for participation in Resident Council, schedule monthly meetings
  • Lead, establish, supervise and maintain the volunteer program
Candidate must have the following:
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Able to make independent decisions
  • Promote and facilitate team work
  • Demonstrate a high standard of ethics
  • Dependability
  • Knowledge of activity programing, volunteer service, and regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead activities for our Dementia residents
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • College degree with documented course work in dementia care, plus one year of experience working with persons with dementia preferred
  • At least 2 years of management experience with persons with dementia
  • Manager must complete, in addition to the training required, six hours of annual continuing education regarding dementia care.
  • Long-term care experience preferred
  • 2 + yrs experience working with Dementia patients preferred
  • Alzheimer/Dementia Certification preferred
  • CPR Certified
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
